The Miele Guide 2011/2012 Gala Dinner
The Miele Guide 2011/2012 was officially launched on November 2 2011 at a red-carpet extravaganza at Resorts World™ Sentosa in Singapore. Esteemed guests flew in from their countries in the region – Malaysia, the Philippines, Indonesia, Korea, and many more. They comprised luminaries of the regional dining sphere - chefs, restaurateurs, and celebrated food journalists. Guest chefs Antonio Escalante (of Antonio’s in Tagaytay, Philippines and one of Asia’s Top 20 Restaurants), Chef William Meyrick (of Sarong in Seminyak, Bali, also one of Asia’s Top 20), whipped up several phenomenal courses that cemented their statuses as two of the best chefs in Asia, for all attending that night. Chef Goh Wee Meng and Chef Hoi Kuok I of Resorts World™ Sentosa completed the exciting line-up. With 20 of the region’s top chefs applauded for their boundary-pushing cuisine, the inaugural Chef of Chef’s Award, and the announcement of two new scholars under The Miele Guide Culinary Scholarship Programme, the gala dinner was the perfect platform to acknowledge the forerunners and trailblazers of Asia’s dining scene.
