Stimulating Drugs And Their Risks

In addition, stimulating drugs can be very “psychologically” addicting. It has an inherent fear of the “crash,” even when it is mild, associated with stopping stimulants abruptly.

Stimulants affect a range of internal organs and body systems. Stress on the heart muscle and blood vessels has several physical risks of stimulating abuse. Dehydration is common. And hidden demands on the body associated with stimulant abuseshort-term as well as long-time.

Stimulants rev upward metabolism by increasing adrenaline. Adrenaline uses up proteins in the body and destroys lean muscle. Of course, stimuli promote some decrease in appetite. This is becoming less appetite will lead to weakness eventually. Even if the person preserves near-average body weight, the nutritional value of cells gets markedly depleted.

In addition, stimulating meds raise insulin levels by the body processes. The long-term higher insulin quantities promote weight gain, not necessarily weight loss, that people often take stimulants to achieve.
